Restricted area of Nepal are the transhimalayan borders with china. These areas are strictly prohibited to the foreigners to travel any circumstances by the immigration department in order to protect the environment, prevailing traditional cultures ,to check illegal entry into china and to preserve the natural and Herbal products and endangered wild lives.
Nepal government is gradually opening forbidden regions for trekking, some of which have become very popular within the very short span of time. Among of the recently opened such areas are Dolpo, Mustang, Manaslu and Kanchenjunga.
