There are several money exchange places in district of
Thamel to exchange different currency and they do except
travelers checks and cash. Almost all shopping places

| Attitude Safety |
Our treks have extra days for altitude
acclimatization. We avoid going into high altitude wherever
possible, as this is one of the main sources of altitude
sickness. With safety being one of our main considerations,
the problem of serious altitude sickness has been virtually
eliminated.
|
| Insurance |
All of our clients who participate
on our trips are require having health and traveling insurance.
Make sure to get a policy that covers trekking, emergency
rescue, and trip cancellation. One copy of the insurance
coverage will be required for our office. If any clients
require rescue during the trip, the leader and the Sirdar
should discuss and inform High Country Trekking. We will
send the helicopter rescue as soon as possible seeing
the weather conditions. If any client is rescued, they
will have to pay their credit amounts before leaving Nepal.
Clients can pay in any form such as cash, cheque or credit
cards.
|
| Equipments |
It is important for everybody to
have good gear for the cold weather. The temperatures
in the mountains can fluctuate drastically between day
and night. As we trek to higher elevation temperature
will drop as low as - C. During the day, temperatures
can go up to 30 C. We provide everything except a sleeping
bag, your personal trekking equipment, and clothing.
|
| Photography |
Any size of camera or small video
camera is highly recommended for any trip. Make sure to
bring lots of film. Print and slide film as well as batteries
are available in photo shops in most major cities. If
you are keen on bringing a video camera, make sure to
have long lasting batteries. You should also bring a pelican
case or some other type of hard case to protect your camera
against dust or damage. Your camera case should fit in
your day bag.
